Cervitude Coalition Resiliency Fund

Everything worthwhile
is done with other people.

We are asking you to help us keep the lights on so we can keep the doors open for the people who need us most. $5,000 by end of 2026.

$5,000 Resiliency Fund Goal

6 months of operating costs, July through December 2026

Care is not a luxury. It is infrastructure.

The Cervitude Coalition was born from a simple and radical belief: that money should never be the reason someone cannot heal. Since 2019, we have been building, brick by brick, session by session, donation by donation, a community-rooted ecosystem of trauma-aware, liberation-centered mental health care in Lowell, Massachusetts and beyond.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We do not have a major donor list. We do not have an endowment. We have you. We have each other. And right now, we need your help to stay standing.

Our Resiliency Fund exists because movements need infrastructure to move. The phone lines that clinicians use to reach clients. The software that keeps records secure and HIPAA-compliant. The postage and printing that carries information into the hands of people who need it. The administrative space where healing work gets organized. These are not glamorous needs. But they are real ones. And without them, nothing else works.

We are asking for $5,000 to cover these core operating costs through the end of 2026, six months of keeping the foundation solid so that everything we have built on top of it can continue to stand.

"I don't believe in self-care. I believe in collective care, collectivizing our care, and thinking more about how we can help each other."
Mariame Kaba

Who we are here for.

We are here for the community member who is uninsured because their employer does not offer coverage, and who should not have to choose between rent and therapy. We are here for the undocumented person who cannot navigate systems designed to exclude them. We are here for the financially insecure survivor of complex trauma who has been told, in a hundred different ways, that their healing is not worth the cost.

Through our re/PAIR Action Therapy Fund, we provide direct vouchers for care, pairing clients with trauma-informed, culturally sustaining practitioners and ensuring that those practitioners receive a fair and dignified wage for their labor. Through our Arts for Health and Wellness programming, we co-create healing spaces that honor the whole person: body, story, ancestry, and imagination.

Through it all, we operate from a core conviction: healing is not a private achievement. It is a collective practice. When one of us heals, we all move a little closer to free.

As one community member told us: "Their flexibility and compassion truly has meant the world to me." Another: "It allowed me to get services when I was uninsured while compensating my provider a fair wage so that I could have the continuity of care I needed."

These are not outcomes. These are people. They are why we are still here, and why we are asking you to help us stay.

This is the work we do 'til we free us.

Mariame Kaba teaches us that abolition, the building of a world without caging, without exclusion, without the punishment of poverty, requires us to invest, simultaneously, in tearing down what harms us and building up what sustains us. It requires refusal. It requires care. It requires collectivity.

The Cervitude Coalition is that third thing: collectivity made concrete. We are a living experiment in what it looks like to build life-giving institutions in the middle of systems that were never designed to hold us.

We are asking you to be part of that experiment. Not with a grand gesture, but with the kind of steady, disciplined hope that Kaba describes: the kind that shows up, that gives what it can, that trusts that others are doing the same.

Give $10. Give $50. Give $500. Give whatever your solidarity looks like today. Share this page with someone who shares your values. Tell them why this matters to you. Because as Kaba's father taught her, and as she has taught so many of us: everything worthwhile is done with other people.

This fund is our community holding us up so we can keep holding others. That is mutual aid. That is collective care. That is the Cervitude Coalition.

Will you help us
keep the doors open?

$5,000 by December 2026. Six months of operations. Hundreds of lives in our ecosystem of care. Your gift makes the difference.
